For this week's very fun technique challenge. Here's the card I'm CASEing: QFTD165 rules for quilting by tessaduck at Splitcoaststampers
It was one of my first inlaid die cuts, and I used layering. Lots. This time, I did the inlaid die cut directly, without the layers. I also used embossing rather than dp.
Also for this week's grandmother's house CAS challenge. There is a real danger with challenges like these, when a certain famiy constellation is assumed, and some folks might be excluded. See, three of my grandparents had already passed long before I was born, and my maternal grandmother soon after. Also, she lived more than a thousand miles away, so I have very vague memories of her. She must have been a quilter, though. I still have the crib quilt she tied for me. It's a very simple quilt, so I chose a nine patch rather than a LeMoyne star, like the card I CASEd. Unfortunately, I think it looks more like a window than a quilt block.
At any rate, I'd like to think that if we'd had a relationship, she would have enjoyed sewing with me.

I'm sure your grandma would have loved teaching you how to sew, Brenda! Isn't it funny how we share interests even through the generations. Wonderful card...love the sentiment! Thanks for playing along with this week's CAS challenge!
