For today's IC challenge - THIS owl cake make me think of both these stamps, one for the style, one for the facial expression, so I made a card using each. Lots of white and definitely mixed media, so I think they fit Anna's challenge from yesterday, too.
Early this morning I made two pieces of stencilled background. The one on the left is left plain white on white. For the one on the right, I dusted it in Perfect Pearls in a colour to match the shadows under her eyes (I call her my "get well" owl, DH thought that she looked as if she'd had a night out on the town!). Because I've already put two cards in this photo, I've also uploaded a separate detail shot which shows the shimmer from the Perfect Pearl.
Left card - bird embossed with clear EP, coloured with distress inks and fussy cut. I added a die-cut branch as a perch, and scalloped borders. I used the same colour of Bazzill for "hello", first stamping it with a background stamp in black to bring it to life a little more.
Card on the right - image stamped and embossed on watercolour paper, coloured with distress inks and fussy-cut. I die-cut the stencilled knit with Labels 1 and made a larger mat label, sponging it with Tumbled Glass. The card base is also sponged with tumbled glass. For the white layer, I stamped the sentiment and then embossed with a Darice dot ef. Most edges are highlighted with Sakura Stardust pens.
