For Anna's MIX104 Pick a Colour, Any Colour challenge.
This is nowhere near what I was thinking of when I wanted to make a green card. But I read that this year is going to be the Year of the Sheep in the Chinese calendar - and that set my mind spinning.
And yes - my sky IS green ink. And yes again, this looks very like a boggy Irish field full of tussocks of reeds.
Gesso clouds fingered in, when dry I used Bunded Sage smooched on my mat and spritzed to colour the sky.
Over the bottom half I used TCW Woodgrain stencil (sideways to how I normally use it) and acrylic texture paste. When it was dry I sponged it with Forest Moss, and stamped grass all over with Versafine Olympia green. I was going to leave it, but decided to add the fence. Edges stitched with green thread. Sheep stamped onto thin watercolour paper and cut out.
I love how this turned out, except that I didn't have time to wait for the gesso to dry 100% before stamping my sentiment. I know it stamps so much better if I wait till the next day - but tomorrow is housework and I'm not off work again till Thursday, so it is as it is.

Wow, I have found my first "fav" for next weeks list!! Sabrina this is terrific. I love how you used the embossing folder sideways, what a brilliant effect. Everything about this makes me smile, especially becasue I watched a doco yesterday called Exploring Ireland...I think I saw this boggy Irish field!!

What an adorable image of the sheep - LOVE how you did the green field with your embossing folder and texture paste - very interesting to read how you got this effect. Your fence looks marvelous and I loved picturing how you "fingerpainted " your clouds in with gesso! Awesome and very creative!!!
