After lunch today my husband and I wrapped our children's presents and that's when I realized that I forgot to alter the art journal I bought for my daughter! She loves to draw/doodle/tangle and asked for zentangle pens and a sketch book so being a stamper, I can't possibly just give her a sketch book, it has to be altered, right?!
I bought this Prima Doll last spring but tonight was her first inking. Oh what fun! I can't wait to play with her again!
We are in the midst of a tornado warning with lots of lighting and thundering so half way through my little project my daughter came down the stairs. I quickly hid the project under a pile of papers (not difficult to do since it looks like a bomb went off in here!)
Since this was my first inking I looked up Pinterest to get some ideas and so I had the page up on my computer. It caught my daughter's eye and we sat here for a good 30 minutes scrolling through the dolls. I hope she won't be disappointed with this as it's not nearly as extravagant as the ones she pointed out as favorites.
I colored her hair and body with copics but used Susie Australia's watercolor technique for the dress. I stamped TH Distress Wild Honey on aluminum foil and then with my aqua brush I colored the bodice, head band and added accents to the patterned paper skirt! I will be using this coloring technique frequently!!
Thank you so much Peggy for the fun color challenge! I decided on my color combo for this project after looking up today's challenge!
TFL!

Oh, Angie!!! This is GORGEOUS! I'm sure your daughter loves it! And, yes, it definitely reminds me of Susie! But (haha), she "smacks" her ink pads on the foil! LOL! I always get such a kick out of her descriptions, especially being from Australia! Do we not LOVE that girl!! Oh, Angie, this is amazing, and I see why it got faved SO much! It deserves to be! Hugs, precious friend!!
