Here is my dps for the first challenge of the VSBN Warm-up. The challenge was to use the title Once Upon a Time. I took the first hour looking through photos and then got this done in the next 45 minutes. With 10 minutes to spare, my battery died on my camera... Anyway, the journaling reads.
"Once Upon A Time, Way out West, These men got together and spent their weekends robbing trains...
Papa Bud, Uncle Paul and Uncle Ben are part of a group of cowboys who rob the Charlie Russell Chew-Choo. The dinner and history train goes out every weekend through the summer and fall taking tourists for a 28 mile trek to Denton, on the route of the old Milwaukee Rairoad line through the landscape that inspired much of the art done by Charlie Russell. The guys have a small town set up with several building fronts, including a saloon, an outhouse and a hanging tree.
Paul and Ben are usually the lookouts and when the train comes into the coulee, they ride alongside shooting in the air and 'pull it over'. They proceed to board the train and 'rob' the passengers (some of the things that are offered are unbelievable!) Then the cowboys get into a gunfight over the loot and Papa Bud often gets shot off his horse after he rides it out the doors of the saloon! Depending on the number of cowboys that show up and what they are up for, their drama plays out a little differenty each time.
Matt, Lindsey and I went to watch one time and stood behind the saloon while it all took pace. The kids thought it was very fun and exciting to watch. They also got to ride out to the town site on the horses and then after the train robbing was done, they rode again and posed for pictures with Papa Bud."

I'm glad you were able to get your camera working!! What a great spread. I love the colors. The use of ribbon also looks awesome!! It's easy to see where Lindsey gets her scrapping talent! Thanks for playing Mary!
