Journaling reads: This is a layout in my heritage album. Journalling reads:
Far left – Malcolm at the one horse hay mower and Granny McLean (Sadie) in the doorway. The picture was taken in the early 1940’s. Although horse drawn hay mowers were common then, they were usually bigger and were pulled by two horses. Even though there were horses it was still hark work, no ride on mowers then.
Upper left – My father (Everett MacLellan jr.) and his wooden sled in early 1950’s. Although sleds today are made in many shapes and sizes and out of different materials, they still work about the same. They work well with harder snow and not so great in light snow.
Lower left – My grandparents (Everett and Audrey MacLellan) driving through Pleasant Valley 1959. After WW II on PEI there were more and more cars on the road. There were some who never wanted to get a car and others had one for years. By the late 50’s cars were winning the battle over the roads. My Grandparents never did get their first car until they pretty much had to in the late 1960’s.
