This card is for my brother Michael who is a minister and has been in Canada for the past few years and has just excepted a new assignment in Butte Montana. Michael is someone I greatly admire as he LIVES his faith and is one of the most kind and loving people I know. (He also has a GREAT sense of humor and he is so much fun!) I am so proud to have him as my brother. He has often taken the road "less traveled" and he has blessed many lives because of it.
My leaves started out their life being punched from paper I made using glossy card stock and alcohol inks. The background is a photo that I found online that I just loved because of the mist shrouded road. I uploaded it to my picture program and used the watercolor effects, giving it an "almost" watercolor look. After printing it, I lightly misted with water. Then I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist "Golden Terracotta" to help being in some more 'fall color". (just the corners) but it also gives a bit of fun shine to the card which I was unable to capture in this photo. The branch is cut form a metallic stack from Michaels and is Memory Box. The leaves are punched from two sizes of punches, one is white and one is orange and neither one has a name. (I suspect the white one is Recollections from Michaels.) I backed the image with SU Cajun Craze card stock and the card base is more of the same metallic card stock that the branch was cut from. I did not put a sentiment on the front because it took away from the look I was trying to achieve.
I will also enter this in the DD challenge for this months theme "If You Leave Me Now".
This fits in to "leaves or a fall theme"...
Thank you for stopping to take a look! It is ALWAYS appreciated!

Peggy, I want to go for a walk into your card! That is wonderful how you combined all these different elements again! You are amazing that you know how to do all those things! GREAT CARD! I am glad to see it made favs!
I just love this.
Would you mind sharing which leaf punch you used? I like the size of the leaf punch - it's smaller than most I've seen, and looks so pretty (and realistic!) in a cluster as you've done here.

Peggy, I think this is my favorite of all of your cards I've been blessed to see--and that alone is quite a compliment!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love how you've created these leaves--I am absolutely mesmerized by fall leaves anyway, just my favorite for cards, although flowers are right up there too. I love this technique of taking a photo and then misting it and creating a hazy photo, and then you add dimension on top. What a wonderful idea--you should do a tutorial for SCS on this!!! You are such a great teacher, always giving such clear directions on how to recreate this technique, thank you so much for that. I agree with another SCS member, this MUST be framed!
What a tribute to your wonderful brother, you are clearly blessed to have each other as well as a close relationship. This went into my favorite so quickly, I needed to know I could look at this card again and again. It just might be cased sometime soon!
I am totally blown away by your artistry, you are one amazing artist, Peggy!!!
