I am so grateful to all the artists on SCS who encourage me to stretch my horizons by creating beautiful things with products that are new to me. After hearing about Embossing Paste quite a lot recently, I checked out some YouTube videos and then jumped in with both feet. This tag (and the card that I made for this challenge) are my first attempts, and I must say I am tickled with the results of my experiment! Embossing paste creates a whole new option for dimension and texture!
I tried coloring some white embossing paste. I was afraid the Pretty in Pink reinker would create too light a color, so I used Regal Rose. Mistake! I'll bet the Pretty in Pink would have worked beautifully, since this color is really too dark to be PIP. But I used the layer anyway!
The other thing I discovered this week is that you can use Copics on images that are heat embossed. I've been warned not to, and to be honest, I just completely forgot until I was most of the way done with my coloring, when it occurred to me: "I'm not supposed to be doing this!" But the images turned out fine, and no evident damage to my marker tips.
So here's my tag for this week's color challenge, CC492, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip and So Saffron. The dessert option is: DESSERT! Cupcake: Check!
Come join in the fun and make a card for this week's Color Challenge!
