This card was made for my dear friend Phyl who just turned 86 years young! She is one of the most amazing card makers I know (Although she does not post to Splitcoast) and I am constantly inspired by her work and who she is. I have posted cards for her before (and also ones I have cased of hers) and she is who I want to be when I grow up. She has a wonderful sense of humor and she is vibrant, talented and one of my best friends. I wanted to make something VERY special for her. I was pleased by how it turned out!
I saw a video tutorial on how to make this card and it is SO MUCH easier than you would think. I did stay up until 4 am to make the card and matching envelope, but that was due to my slow productivity (and procrastination) rather than the difficulty of making it.
Here is a link to the video if anyone else would like to try their hand at it!
The butterfly is a die my friend Sandy lent to me and it is by a new vendor (for me) called Frantic Stamper Inc. and this is the Monarch Butterfly and Solid Butterfly. The flowers are hers as well and she had them on a magnetic sheet...no name. The edges are the A2 Curved Border One.
The paper was called Bluesy Shadow Wash but it just happened to match the SU paper very well. I was thrilled to be able to make a matching envelope with my envelope maker, one of the best investments I have ever made! Good luck ever finding a 6x7 envelope to buy! :-)
Thank you for coming to see the card I made with lots of love for my friend Phyl, who is one of my hero's.

Peggy this is another jaw dropper. Phyl sounds like a wonderful lady, what a perfect way to show your friendship on her birthday. Straight I to My Favs.

Stunning stunning card. I love the border cut, the blues you used, the gorgeous butterfly die and those beautiful flowers. I so want to case this stunning work of art! Thank you also for sharing the link on how to do the cutting of this card. Your friend is going to treasure this.

Somehow I missed this awesome card in the gallery, but I am so glad I caught it the second time around. Your write up made me tear up...how fantastic to have such a special friend. You made her an amazing card. I could watch the video all week and not produce anything as stunning as your card. Just beautiful.
