Such a fun challenge! Backgrounds are one of my fave things to create. For my bg, I started with a text print piece of dp, then I did everything under the sun to it. I'm surprised it's still intact. I started w/ the brayer, then added ink by sponging and stamped the quote in teal a few times along w/ a splatter image using gold ink. Wasn't happy with it, so I spritzed it w/ Mr. Huey's spritz. Still didn't work for me. So I used a big water color brush and a bunch of different Adirondack reinkers (stupid auto correct...keeps changing it to reindeers!) and did several light washes over it. At this point I stopped because I was afraid the paper would fall apart, lol.
The image was colored with Copics and die cut then attached to more layers. The finished card is 4.25 x 5.50.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups and the colors of Copics I used are on my blog: The Write Stuff

Julie, your work and layers of color on this are rewarded with this masterpiece. It's just lovely, as always. Gorgeous use of color with a beautiful open image.
