Ok, so my card isn't square... I was inspired by the sketch none the less. I printed 4 copies of a digital paper from Diane's Daydream Designs I tried to print it square but it turned out to be more rectangle. Since I'm running a little low on white cardstock, I went with it anyway. I cut the top 3 layers incrementally smaller than the one below it. I did the ink-spray-air-smash technique on all four layers. I also did the inside of the heart, an other Diane's Daydream designs digi. I wanted the layers to have some depth to them. I decided to take the scraps from when I cut the panels smaller and I punched a bunch of 1/4 inch circles. I glued them into stacks of 5 circles each. I then used these "towers" of circles to place in the corners and centers of the top 3 panels. I added some drywall tape to the different layers. I knew I wanted to put flowers on so I took two die cut branches and tucked some of them into the layers and left one out on top at the bottom. I made a dimensional butterfly by stamping it twice and cutting out the left wing twice and gluing it at the body. The antenea are just a very thin piece of black cardstock that I put between the two butterfly layers. Our Daily Bread designs blog challenge this week it to make a non traditional Valentine... no pinks or red. I'm also entering this in this week's Word Art Wednesday challenge.
