I started this card Saturday for the Inspiration Challenge. Audrie had us check out Integrity Graphics Esty shop. This is the photo I used for inspiration:
I embossed some flowers with the white EP, then started sponging on some color. Unfortunately, the ochre really is so light it makes it hard to see the flower unless it catches the light. Then I stamped the wheat and the agapathus (I think that is what that is called) When I stamped the sentiment on the front, it was a little crooked. Oy! So I cut it out the crooked sentiment, using a spellbinders die. Now it is like a window to see the inside of the card.
I finished up the card when I saw the beautiful colors for this weeks color challenge. Peggy gave us a Coastal Saffron Tango to try. All I needed was a little of the Coastal Cabana color (I used a close ColorBox color) and called it done.

oh sistah Kathleen, bring it with that sentiment! What a truth moment...love the window into the thought and your faded colorway of todays bold tropical colors. This is a beauty!

Kathleen, this is a beautiful take on today's color challenge. Love the soft shading on this. Your prayer journal that inspired you is one of my favorites on that site. Beautiful card.

I love the soft way you did that background and now that I see that journal, I'd love to try that one too! Your sponging is gorgeous and so well blended. I feel your pain on the crooked stamping but I really like the effect of the window instead!
