ItÂ’s Teapot Tuesday once again and this week our cards are going to two year old Jasmine from Iowa. This precious little girl is waiting for a bone marrow transplant. I hope all of our cards can bring some sunshine to her long hospital stay.
Our story this week is about Lill Miss Prissy and her trips to the zoo. She loves feeding and waving to the animals. We have been asked to bring animals, sparkles and get well wishes.
I previously made the rash statement that I would keep stair step cards for “tickle” weeks, but it was simply not possible to fit two monkeys, an elephant and Lill Miss Prissy on a regular shaped card.
Miss Prissy started out life as a digi image, complete with a little tiara and tulle tutu. She HAD lots of glitter on her outfit and bling in her tiara. It was because of the excessive amount of glitter (glue based) that I put her outside to dry. It is 43C (109F) here today so I thought she would dry while I was creating Roger, Alfonso and Eloise.
Thanks to my endeavors at doing mixed media, I coloured the monkeys, Roger and Alfonso, with Distress Inks. Eloise was printed on pink and yellow paper, with Zig Wink of Stella Brushes added to her face and ears. I applied blobs of glue at random then sprinkled super fine glitter on top. I forgot I had the ceiling fan on when I did this, ooooye I have a lot of cleaning up to do.
I covered bright green cardstock with dp, added a fence and some bauble braid– this is where I expected to put Miss Prissy. I went outside to get her, you can imagine my shock when all I found was a little pool of melted glue and glitter and her little tutu floating in a bowl of water I had put out for the magpies (birds). Seems that she was overcome with heat exhaustion, which is probably preferable to getting her head and limbs blown off with my super powerful heat gun.
Thanks to the lovely messages I have received about card making and NOT stressing, I decided to replace Prissy with orange feathers. I had heaps of fun making this and it is already in the post.
Update on scissors / knife stuck to craft mat: Thank you for the suggestions about using acetate. I mentioned this to DH, he reminded me of the extensive list of banned substances that I am not to use while he is awayÂ…he of little faith. Anyway, I ignored him and tried it, I could feel part of the scissors lifting from the mat so I got my metal ruler under the handles and pulled it upÂ…..it worked, sort of. The scissors came flying off, whizzed straight past my ear and knocked over a glass of water on the table. Could have been a lot worse!!
Thank you for looking and have a great week everyone.

This card is super cute. I know the feathers were a last-minute substitution, but I'll be little Jasmine will love the soft texture they add.
I do love reading the adventures of Susie the Stamper, although when I go through similar (but somehow less dangerous sounding) adventures I think to myself "couldn't I just once make a card without losing anything?"
109 degrees, eek. Hope it cools down for you.

Another wonderful card and story to go along with it Susie. I just love reading all about your tales and trials!!!! Glad you didn't clip your ear off though. Those feathers are so cute and can't imagine a 2 year old not loving those!

Well you know, everything happens for a reason...Miss Prissy's dip in the pool brought about the BRILLIANT use of the feathers which are a delight to look at and will tickle little Miss Jasmine I am sure. The scene you have created is pure eye candy for EVERY age. This is sure to have her smiling ear to ear. P.S. Glad the acetate suggestion worked... how do I know? Have you ever glued one finger to another???? "I LOVE RUBBER" and I have MUCH in common.....

What a fun festive circus feel you have going on here, Susie, with the feather and the wonderful pompom trim headband on your little elephant.
You know - I'm not surprised that it's a stairstep card, I rather thought that you'd break out in one sooner than the next tickle ;-). The monkeys with their sparkly tummies are just enchanting.
Poor Miss Prissy - and poor you too in that heat!! Stay cool. I'm glad you finally got your scissors free, too. One less hazard on your desk, LOL.
And after prepping my sample for tomorrow's WT, tell me all about loose glitter. To make it worse, I put the box away in a hurry and it fell off the shelf, and one tube (NOT the one I was using today, even worse) spilled into my box of circle punches. Talk about a mess, I had to take the vacuum to each and every punch individually and I'm sure there's still glitter in them.

Oh Susie, I don't know which I look forward to more, your story or your card. Actually it is both. Your story is hilarious and the card is fabulous. Keep the stories and cards coming. TFS

Your card is over the top cute! Sorry about all the card making tribulations - and especially sorry about the heat.
And I thought it was bad when I have bits of glitter from head to toe - even saw a bit of sparkle on my face when I got home from church a few weeks ago!
