To-day's challenge was to do some sort of sewing on your card. I have been wanting to make one of those pyramid cards that are all over Pinterest right now so here it is! The flower is from Tim Holtz' tattered poinsettia and sponged with lipstick distress ink. The leaves are a very old die from sizzix..probably one of the first dies I ever bought and the birthday banner is hand made. I bunched up some DMC silver thread to make the bow in the background. I didn't realize just how hard it is to sew paper on a sewing machine! It keeps sliding around as you can see by my straight lines! LOL I think I will be making more of this type of card 'cause I really like them.

The banner sentiment goes perfectly with the pyramid shape. And as always your flowers is just perfection.
Hmm - I don't find the paper slides too much, but what I do find, as someone who has had a sewing machine since I was 5, is that fabric is much more forgiving and MUCH easier to get corners right because you can always stretch it a tiny bit. That's my big gripe with sewing on paper/card, it's so unforgiving. And, if you make a mistake you can't really rip it out, like you can with fabric...

I can't sew on cloth let alone paper so I bow to your expertise! I see no mistakes and I am in awe of this shaped card. LOVE LOVE LOVE the silver thread made into a bow (bow? well what ever it is it is darned pretty!) and your flowers are so soft and beautiful.I think your leaves are perfect for this and your banner ROCKS! Pinned and faved...
What a fabulous shape AND you sewed it!!! I don't enjoy sewing on my cards because it always moves on me too! You did an amazing job and I love it in pink!
