Cathy's super-fun challenge today is Lovely Wreaths. I found this a very inspiring challenge - but since both my cards stumped me on what to put in the centre, I'm looking forward to seeing everybody else's creations!!
I LOVED how my pale background layer turned out and hope I can replicate it.
First I'd used wrinkle-free distress to make a background and stamp the Pine backgrounder with Forest Moss, but my wreath didn't stand out enough against it. So I used more wrinkle-free distress and stamped the backgrounder again in Sepia, but still my wreath didn't stand out. Two backgrounds sitting there... I sponged white acrylic all over the sepia one, and then stamped leaves and script from French Foliage on it with Pumice Stone and Weathered Wood - so they're there, but very faint. Stitched and distressed the edges, and layered it up onto the other discarded panel.
Wreath made by embossing the leaves after die-cutting them, and then sponging in autumn colours and adding Stickles. I cut a ring from fun foam to stick them all on, so that they're popped up from the base layer.
Acorns are from a clear set - I think it's Kodomo's Winter Robins.
