Denise gave us the "chalkboard technique" as our CAS Challenge for today. I decided to go with a "Kraft" color rather than white. In the process, I learned something....at least with Zing EPs...the color lies on the top. My mottled birdhouse came from the hot embossing flipping over on my Kraft mat and it lifted the color in parts...as you can see. I decided it gave the birdhouse a "shabby chic" look and went with it.

Love it. I think it has a sort of homespun look to it. How clever to use ivory/vanilla instead of white!!

Sallie, your oops moment has turned into a beautiful creation!! I really love the look of the Shabby Chic, especially with the pop of color in the hearts!!

Oh, Sallie, I love how the birdhouse came out. You are so right, it gives it a shabby chic appearance. I like how the chalkboard technique turned out as well. Your navy and white twine just adds the perfect touch
