CT0712 CENTRAL THEME: Summertime
Our challenge this month is to be inspired by the classic song: SUMMERTIME - by George Gershwin
CT0712 – Cotton is high…
I used a Google image of a cotton plant. I grew up in the south and one of the summer career opportunities for some of my friends was to pick cotton. That meant they would start school later and were sometimes behind in their work and on occasion would need to repeat a grade. They were, however, the riches kids in town. I never got a chance to pick cotton. I was always too little.
I colored the cotton plant with copics.

What a stunning, shaped ease; card and beautiful coloring on the cotton plant image. I always thought picking cotton looked like such back-breaking, finger-bleeding work! I guess young people would be the ones who could do it!

P.S. In Michigan, where I live and grew up, the hard-work that kids did was de-tasseling corn. My nephews did it and they come home exhausted and filthy at the end of each day, but with money in their pockets!
