this teapot tuesday challenge was about bringing the outside to the inside..I chose to bring things representing my state of Ohio. For those who don't know about Ohio. It was the 17th state admitted to the union. Commonly called the buckeye state. The Buckeye tree has nuts resembling a buck's eye. At Christmas or weddings, it is imperative to have buckeye cookies which are ever so simple. Peanutbutter mixed with powdered sugar, rolled into a ball and dipped in chocolate to coat, but leaving an open spot that resembles the nut. The nut is poisonous to eat untreated, by the way.
Using black and gray and red cardstock, I did a collage of items shown. tfl

I didn't know the nut was poison! I always heard to carry one in your pocket for good luck. I love your Ohio card! I live close to the Ohio river on the Kentucky side.

Well well, I never knew that about buckeyes. I mean, I knew the Ohio football team (and maybe something else) was called Buckeyes, but I never knew why. I do remember that once when my half-brother had to go to Columbus on business, the not-very efficient travel agency were on the point of booking him to Colombo in Sri Lanka. Thank you for bringing such an interesting card along to the tea-party this week.

Clever idea to introduce your state to the recipient. Now come football season there might be a bit of a challenge from this Husker fan!
Interesting where these team names come from!
