I made this decorated canvas at a class I took last week at our scrapbook store - it was really fun and it was amazing to see everyone elses finished pieces - although we did the same class each and every one was sooooooo different!!
First you painted your canvas with your acrylic paints - very randomly - no need to be perfect.
Then I pasted my piece of paper along the bottom edge and covered the bottm and top of it with rick rack braid and the lace. The edges of the paper (you probably cant see) I actually filed roughly with a nail file to give a kind of rustic look and then sponged the edge of them with brown ink.
The photo, I got a nail file and roughly sanded the edges of it and then put a bit of moss green paint sparingly over the sanded parts and attached it to an old piece of cardboard which i had ripped and teared and painted a mix of brown and moss green to make it look kinda oldish (is that a word)
I then stitched around the edge of the photo to create a type of border with embroidery thread in a natural colour.
I then painted the flowers with a bit of moss green and brown (they were yellow- and yellow flowers would not have looked good lol) so I needed to tranform them into a colour that would work with my creation.
I then stamped the decorative pieces with brown acrylic paints, attached the buckle to the braid and used my xyron to attach it to the canvas.
Now for the LOVE title!! I made it using word art on the computer - printed it out on copy paper, cut it out and then glued it onto moss green cardstock. I painted this lightly with the brown so it would just tie in nicely with my other colours, used the xyron to attach it to the canvas and then coated it with crystal effects to give it the look of a "BOUGHT" embellishment!! And that was it - ALL DONE!!
If any of my instructions seem not to easy to understand please feel free to PM me and ask and I will help you as best as I can!!
