This card is for 2 challenges: Teapot Tuesday (make a card featuring fish/fishing) and Try a New Technique (make your own stripes). A paper cutter and a tape runner sure make quick work of this background and it's a great way to use scraps! I layered various strips of DP (no idea where most of it comes from, but there is some Basic Grey mixed in) onto a piece of textured brown cardstock, and layered that onto an ivory card. I added copper brads in the corners. Then I stamped my batik fish (Impression Obsession) twice onto another piece of DP in brown dye ink and cut them out, and layered them on with mounting tape. Fast and easy and looks much more complicated than it was! No sentiment, leaving this one as an all occasion blank card with a masculine feel.
I haven't blogged this card yet but you can follow my Handmade Card a Day Challenge for 2012 at: cardaday2012.blogspot.com. This is card #40 for the year so far!

Great job with the strips on the base layer for the technique and cute fishy card. Congratulations being selected as today's Featured Stamper. I love your gallery. Enjoy your week.
