This card is for today's "Cards With Character" challenge. This card is for my cousin Gia. I think she is my first cousin twice removed or something like that. Her mom and I were first cousins and extremely close, more like sisters. Gia's mom, Christy, passed away this past January after a 10 year battle with breast cancer. For Gia's entire life, she watched her mother battle cancer through its ups and downs. Throughout the years, Gia has always been a shining star. Always making honor roll, always winning awards for being a student with character. Her grades only have slipped once, and that was this past fall when her mom was in her final stages of cancer.
This school year, Gia ran for student council to become her school's class secretary. She won and this month she is chairing a fundraiser for raising money for breast cancer. Her mother had raised over 50,000 dollars while battling cancer to go toward the American Cancer Society's annual walk for breast cancer research and awareness. Gia has now picked up where her mother left off and is continuing the fight, so no more children have to lose a mother.
I am so proud of Gia and that is why I made this card for her! To let her know what an amazing girl she is!

Amy, what a touching card you have made for a TRULY AMAZING girl. Gia sounds like a terrific young woman who has experienced more in her young life than most of us experience in a lifetime. Your card is beautiful and will certainly be loved by her.
