I happened to see the sketch tonight and an idea came to my head, so I had to quickly go up to my room and have some fun. I took a bit of liberty and used string instead of another rectangle because I had already put the sentiment in my main piece.
I cut the top note shape, flipped it 90 degrees then cut again. I masked and sponged a circle on it, then stamped the bird and sentiment.
On the background orange I stamped Medallion.
I thought this would make a fabulous male card!

Wow...I love how you made that shape with the top note die! I think if I had tried to do that it would have ended up looking like something that came out of my paper shredder..lol! Your masking and shading is perfect too! Really great card! By the way, I just have to comment on your avatar...that is one of the sweetest little puppy mugs ever! What a cutie!! Every time I have seen that in the gallery I just smile!
