This is what I've had in mind since getting the Nestabilities Egg dies - recreating one of those panoramic sugar eggs. There are several great versions of this idea in the SCS gallery that inspired me.
I first tried the diorama technique but it didn't work very well for me. Then I tried the recessed window and I liked it much better. So, that's a 2 1/4 inch square recessed window behind the egg shaped frame. Here's the Resources tutorial:
The larger purple border around the egg was cut with small scalloped scissors. Here's a great tutorial by Bev Rochester which shows how to create a narrow border with the Nestabilities dies:
I used the second largest egg die to cut out the center and attached it to the back of the white egg shape. For some "sugar" I added Martha Stewart crystal fine glitter to all the purple scallops with the 2-way glue pen. The white egg layer is debossed with the PTI Tin Types impression plate.
There's a fringed grass layer attached behind the bottom of the oval opening. The bunny, from the old Tags & More set, is popped up on dimensionals. The egg frame is also popped up on 1/8 inch dimensionals to make the opening even deeper.
The finished card is 5 1/2 inches square. It's rather bulky, so I used a padded envelope.
