Hi! This card was made for todayÂ’s Ways to Use it Challenge: Buttons AND for todayÂ’s StampinÂ’ BÂ’s Challenge: Make a Scene.
Today is going to be very stressful, as Mark has a VERY important business meeting and Markie has surgery this afternoon. Since only PARENTS of children in surgery are allowed in the waiting room, I will be there alone fretting for HOURS! I think IÂ’ll take a box of cards and start addressing them! LOL
Now, I have to admit thisÂ…I have a rather large collection of particularly sad, ugly, matchless buttons. It rivals the basket of LONE SOCKS that I have amassed over the years. I think IÂ’ll always be a Cub Scout leader at heart, as in the back of my mind, I KNOW I have limitless button covered sock puppets just waiting to be made! LOL
Since the buttons do NOT match, (one has a ridge, and was YELLOW!), I pressed both into VersaMark and embossed in Copper. I used a black Copic Marker and the airbrush to “age” the buttons to have them coordinate with the brad in the center of the flower.
To create this scene, I stamped the tree in Adirondack's Espresso. Next, I tore a piece of scrap paper and used it as a mask while using my Copic Airbrush system to create the background.
Finished size: 4 ¼” x 5 ½”
Total time to complete: 49 minutesÂ…It was difficult finding 2 buttons the same SIZE!

Your card is beautiful. I am with you on the mismatched buttons being the best. If they are old and crackled, that's even better. Oh, to know the history of those buttons and find out where they had been.

Stunning scene! Great for a masculine card! Hope and pray all goes well with Markie (and Mark...and mom...) today!

I dont know how you did it, to create such a beautiful card when you are worried over Markie, but you did a magnificent job... I sure hope things work out well with Markie and he recovers very soon....
