The Story: This hat reminds me of my grandmother. An Irish woman from Kansas. She always wore a hat outside to protect her skin. She always wore a hat like this when she gardened. Except not with the flowers you understand. This hat brings back feelings of warmth and kindness. Cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven, jars of buttons to sort and play with, toast from the toaster oven with melted cheddar cheese. And dress up with Grandma's hats and shoes. These hat's did the trick too, my Grandmother had the best skin all the way up to her 80's. She used Avon moisturizer and wore hats, that was it. As a young woman in Kansas, she did some modeling and was asked by a young make-up company to work for them. But she met my Grandfather, and married, they drove out West and settled on a chicken farm in the very northwest of Oregon. And then they had seven children. But through it all, she was always classy and fabulous. So this hat reminds me of Grandma and what a little bit of fashion can do.

What a pretty hat. Love your story. Good skin...my aunt has skin as soft as a baby's little behind! No really. LOL So I can so relate to the basic skin care your GM limited herself with. I use some moisturizer now that I am in my 40's and nearing 50. ouch!
Back to the card, ga-reat idea to use the cardboard this way. I am glad Connie's card inspired you and served as a memory trigger. TFS

Look at those cute gloves, ohmygoodness. They look REAL! This is such a pretty card. Love the twill, and the distressed effect with the top note. Thanks for sharing! Blessings, Lela
