It's so good to be back *creating* again! After a 6-day April Vacation trip with my kids (solo--Daddy had to stay behind for work) and another 6 days to catch up on everything I got behind on while we were away, I finally took some time for ME today.
This is for:
1) Today's WT268 challenge, Crazy for Chipboard. I made my own chipboard flower embellishment (colored with Rose Red Stampin' Pastels).
2) This week's Limelight Papercrafts Sketch 46 (LLPC046) to use the given sketch and try to incorporate your favorite SPARKLE in some form. I added a pretty new sparkle brad as my chipboard flower center. http://limelightpapercrafts.blogspot...6-sparkle.html
Couldn't wait to use my new Peaches and Cherries stamp set from Flourishes. Colored the image using the gamsol magic technique. Hand-wrote out the Cherry Pie recipe (in my best old-school handwriting!) and distressed the index card with strong tea and sponged ink. I was totally inspired to add a recipe card by this great card by lcoughlin: OCCC - Bowl of Cherries by lcoughlin at Splitcoaststampers
Used a cheap emery board to "sand" the white core textured card stock I used for the base. For my bow, I ripped off a long strip of ivory muslin from a scrap in my sewing scraps bag and stitched it to my card with my sewing machine.
Even though my coloring job on the cherries and leaves is less than ideal, overall I'm pleased with my vintage-y results! I think this well make a great card for my DH to give his step mom for Mother's Day.
Thanks for looking!
Emily
PUNCHEZ tally: two different punches; weight loss: only less than a half pound because I only had to punch twice :(
