Hi! This card was made for today's Clean and Simple Challenge: Make an Orange Birthday Card and today's Technique Lovers Challenge to: Ramp it Up, (If you are a clean and simple stamper, add more to your card. If you are an embellisher, LIGHTEN UP!)
Of course, I've been told that my Clean and Simple cards are embellished heavily, but I don't mind...I LOVE embellishments! So, I decided to use THIS CARD as the sample to show you how much I LEFT OFF! LOL
There are just two layers to this card. I colored in the tree from the Sneak Peek set: Tropical Vacation, with Memento Markers and stamped it onto Snow Storm Smooth. Next, I sponged in the background and used the reverse masking technique for the sun. I wanted a major ORANGE sky, so this is a SUNSET on Florida's Gulf Coast. (Note, our beach sunsets on the east coast lack a SUN! If you look at the ocean, the sun is setting behind you! That's why you would have to be on the west coast to see this...Okay, Markie just pointed out that you could be at the intercoastal, looking west to see this, but this is supposed to be the OCEAN! LOL)
The rest of the scene was sponged in with Palette Inks. I used my Scor It to make a simple scored frame on the card base.
Finished card size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Total time to complete: 34 minutes
Love both cards, but this one especially. The colors are wonderful and make me long for the Outer Banks of NC.

This is just GORGEOUS! I have so much admiration for people who can create scenes like this - I am scene-challenged! LOL! I love how you took this "more" technique and used it on a CAS card - so pretty!!
