I nearly didn't upload this card as so many of us chose the beautiful tulips on this postcard as our inspiration, and I thought everyone would be fed up of seeing tulips made with the punched bird wings lol! But hey, I like it, so I uploaded it after all!
Plus, I used a new technique (to me) of partial embossing with an embossing folder, and am so pleased I managed it (after a few attempts)!
The tulips are, of course, using the punched bird wings - I got my bird punch last week so am playing with it lots! I shaped the petals using a pencil and mousemat, just so they curved a bit like real tulips do, and sponged the edges. The stems are a;lso from the bird punch, and the leaves are made from a punched oval.
The ribbon is from my wonderful Big Sis - I'm taking part in the Divine Secret Siblings and having a wonderful time! I've yet to find out who my Big Sis is - I think the reveal is at the end of May. Can't wait!
Thanks so much for popping by!

Hey Sally, how could anyone get sick of tulips? I'm only sorry I haven't done any of my own. These are beautiful. They look so real. Thanks for all the good tips.

Sally, what a gorgeous Spring card. It reminds me of the tulip fields in Holland.
Adding the embossing folder to the background really added that special touch. BTW - your Big Sis has good taste in ribbon :-) thanks for sharing another fabulous creation with us

Oh, I'm so glad you decided to upload your gorgeous card after all, Sally!! You can NEVER have too many tulips!! All of those lovely Mackinac photos featured so many wonderful tulips, it's no wonder so many of us were inspired by them I just love how you used your punches to create this beauty. Using an oval punch for the leaves was inspired!!! Just love your sentiment panel/ribbon treatment. Wonderful work
