I made this card to say "thank you" to another friend who has helped me "hang in there" while I have been unwell since Christmas. I'm slowly getting better & my mojo is coming back. Yay!!
I'm also popping this into the CAS02 Challenge of "One Button will do!". See this link for the deets: Forums at Splitcoaststampers I love buttons but don't use them often enough on cards so the Challenge gave me the perfect excuse.
I love this Sizzix Textured Impressions embossing folder (from the Hello Kitty Spring Set #2) because the middle is blank for me to stamp my image & it fits LOTS of images I have in my stamp stash. Plus it easily fits in my CB. Makes for a quick and simple card because there is no layering. I made 3 similar cards on Saturday (see my Gallery for the other 2 cards) - just with different images but with the same ef. I lightly added some I-Kan-dee pearlescent chalks to the dry embossing using similar colours to the image. It shimmers & looks so pretty - alas not captured by the camera :-(
The image was stamped with Memento ink and coloured with Gamsol and Prismacolor pencils and I added Kindyglitz to the blue flowers & the centre of the orange flowers. It didn't take long to colour because the flowers/leaves aren't too detailed - just a flick of colour with the pencil and "smudged" with the paper stump/Gamsol - just to give an impression of shading/highlighting. I lightly chalked the background for the sky etc with the same colours that I used for the dry embossing. The tiny purple & orange hearts around the image are the leftover punchies from my EK Success Arrows Border punch (they look like tiny hearts to me).
I diecut a tag from the CB Tiny Tags dieset & stamped the sentiment with Stazon ink & rubbed a little bit of chalk around the edge before adding a gemstone at each end & popped it up on 1mm mounts. I had originally stamped the sentiment next to the image but smudged it & covered up the boo-boo with the tag (phew!).
The bow was made with my Bow Easy and then I sewed on a button and attached it to the card with a glue dot (LOVE these glue dots!!)
Thanks for having a peek at my card!
