Ordinary kitchen timer made into a bookmark for those children who have to read for a specified amount of time every day. This way they can keep track themselves.

What a good idea! I think I'll make one for my DS who is supposed to read for 15 min. How do you attach the timer to the paper?

I used pliers to take the clip off of the back of the timer. Then cleaned up the area with a craft knife to get it as flat as possible. Then I just used Glue Dots, assuming I'd have to replace the batteries relatively soon. It's stayed on great.

Yea! I finally found your post!! What a great idea! Unfortunately, with my dd (Caroline as you know) she'd rather play with the timer than read! But, I'll give it a try!
