Today's Limited Supply Challenge is Stretch Yourself! We are to try doing/ using two things that are a stretch for us. What I chose to do was:
(1) decorate something that is not a card. I have all these boxes, tins, and whatnot stashed that I never have touched!
(2) Use acetate as a stamping surface. I have only finished a very few projects using the acetate transparency sheets.
This shadow box measures about 5x5x1.5 and is hinged and has a magnetic closure. I think I got it at Dollar Tree! I should have bought more than three! I decided to decorate for my daughter and will put some valentine treats inside. The box sides are colored with a Copic Marker directly onto the wood, which gave it a stained effect. Then I stamped flowers with black ink around the sides. This inside has "stained" sides (again with Copic), and the bottom is lined with designer paper. The frame of the lid is painted white.
Instead of decorating the glass on the lid, I used the acetate transparency sheet. I stamped the flowers with black ink and colored with Copic Markers. On top of that I sponged some white ink. I cut to size, flipped it over, and so you are looking at the uninked side of the acetate under the glass. I need to clean it up a bit, then put treats in it. Maybe I'll decorate a gift bag to match! TFL!

Wow, what a great project! I'm sure your DH will love all the effort you went through to make it for him. Thanks for all the deets showing all the steps you went through to make this great gift. You've used one of my favorite stamp sets. All the images are so cheery. Great job with the challenge today!
