These sweet lil New York farm girls are my mom (left) and her sissy, and my favorite Aunt, Irene. This is my Auntie Rene's favorite photo of them together, and it is very dear to me. I wanted to send my aunt something special for Christmas to give her good memories of my mom, who would have been 71 on Christmas Eve. I think she will be blessed to see this photo again. It is framed in all of our homes, and always brings about good memories of their farm girl days in New City. My Uncle Richard (96) still lives in the house his immigrant parents built 100 years ago. Last time I visited him, he was out raking leaves! My Gram and all of her sibs were born in that farm house.
The photo was scanned onto watercolor paper for the texture, and then sponged over in Creamy Caramel to create the sepia look, and then the edges were done in Choc Chip. Cracked glass was applied over all and mounted on gold CB' d paper and DP. The sentiment inside is from A Beautiful Season and reads:
'May the quiet beauty of this season bring you deep joy and warm memories to cherish throughout the coming year.'
Thanks for looking!

Oh what a precious picture of your Mom and Aunt, Pat. I love the vintage effect you gave it, love the cracked glass effect, CB gold panel and the vintage dp.. Your Aunt will surely treasure this. Thank you for sharing your story...

This is so sweet. I know your Aunt Rene will love this. It truly is a wonderful memory and a gift of love. I like how you sponged the water color paper to make it look like sepia.

I don't even have words for how special this is! You have taken this priceless picture and framed it so beautifully. I am impressed by your choice of papers and colors too. I have this paper and wish I would have seen it in a Christmas way too.

There is no more beautiful gift than a memory...and this is a beautiful gift that you have created here! What an adorable photo of your Mum and Aunt....this is one beautiful card and I am sure it will be treasured by your Aunt. I have photos of my Nana, my Mum and her siblings like this (actually there are 4 generations in 1 photo) and was considering making Mum a set of cards that she can either use or frame, after seeing this...I am going ahead with it! Thanks for sharing Pat, the card is beautiful, but the memory is priceless!!! You know Pat, we never lose someone when we know where they are - in our hearts!!!

Awww, this is beyond precious! What a thoughtful thing to do for your aunt! I'm sure she loved it! I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, Pat. That's way to young to not be here with us! I can see how Christmas would be more difficult for you and your family (aunt)! I'm sure this card brought back many wonderful memories! What a nice keepsake for her to have! The card itself is beyond gorgeous! The way you gave the photo it's own Sepia tone, to the cracked glass, to the beautiful papers and ribbon! Really great job Pat! You've outdone yourself on this one! Congrats on making a true memory to cherish for a lifetime! =)
