TodayÂ’s Technique LoverÂ’s Challenge TLC198 was to create a shade from vellum cardstock to fit over a wine glass, creating a uniquely beautiful votive candle holder. It was also the perfect solution for making a holiday table decoration for Heather TelforÂ’s challenge (see it here on her blog "bits and pieces": http://cardz.wordpress.com/2008/12/0...or-challenge/). Heather posted this challenge on Saturday as part of Sharon JohnsonÂ’s blog celebration. I also decorated a match box to match.
When I traced the image, I added an extra quarter inch to one edge to give me more flexibility in overlapping the sides. I wanted to be able to use eyelets to join the vellum. IÂ’ve had terrible luck with vellum adhesives and I wanted to be sure this didnÂ’t come apart! I used decorative scissors for the edging, and mica paints to color in the hamsas.
All of the details for creating this shade will be on my blog this week and IÂ’ll post here when the blog post has been added!
