I made this for a young man who has made strives in his life and is on the right path. I am so proud of him, and this was intended to give him the opportunity to record his journey.
It was fun making this. I went to the local hardware store to pick out embellishments, the older fellow looked at me like I was nuts when I said "No Thanks" to his help, that I was working on a creative project, lol!! I picked out some washers etc..and inked up part of it w/ stazon for a weathered look. The bookmark has his initials and a tag that says "imagine". Inside I stamped various words as a BG that were inspirational, and over that I put a beautiful poem about "Standing Tall" in everything you face.
I happened to have a really cool futuristic pen that had flashing LCD lights in it and it matched perfectly...he loved that too!!
When I gave it to him he was ecstatic and so touched!! It was a very emotional experience.
It warmed my heart truly, truly that he was so touched, because it is I who am blessed to have come to know him and to witness his success. He has "adopted" me as another Mom. And I him as a son.
Thanks for looking!
