This week the challenge for the Twisted Sisters was to make a Christmas card inspired by a Christmas song, and have plenty of bling. I chose Casting Crowns version of “ I heard the bells on Christmas Day” because it touches me to think that peace can be had on Earth. That is the Christmas message. This poem was written on Christmas Day, 1862 by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and set to music on 1872.
The main image is from Stampscapes and is watercolored and paper pieced over the same image, is mounted on a nestie and has SnoTex and dazzling diamonds (that is my bling!) The sky was sponged in going gray over a torn paper towel, and the pine sprigs (MS Branch Punch) have more dazzling diamonds.
The sentiment is from Close to my Heart reads “Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace and good will toward men.” Luke 2:14
Merry Christmas.....

Oh my goodness, sister Buttnik, your cards are just jaw dropping gorgeous. I have cracked a few teeth from that happening!!! I wished we lived closer so you could give me lessons on how to make these beautiful creations. Love, love, love this card. I also love that you are touched by songs about peace and God. You are a very special person in my life and I am so happy for it. Enjoy your new little grandson.
hugs,

Wow Pat - this is so awesome. I saw it on the favorites of the year forum and couldn't remember it - now I see that I never saw it. It is definitely one of the best cards of all time!

Just had to drop in again to see your heart laid out on paper and to say a warm congratulations for being nominated in the 2010 favorites and for being the inspiration for this idea. Your heart and creations are so beautiful and moving and touch so many. What a ministry you have to so many of us ladies on this site dear sistah Pat. I truly love and appreciate you and thank you for nominating my card and pointing us to others that have touched you (I loved Vanessa's). Hugs and LYMI (gotta say, along with this one, Bubba's B-Day is right next to it)
