This week the challenge for the Twisted Sisters was to make a Christmas card inspired by a Christmas song, and have plenty of bling. I chose Casting Crowns version of “ I heard the bells on Christmas Day” because it touches me to think that peace can be had on Earth. That is the Christmas message. This poem was written on Christmas Day, 1862 by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and set to music on 1872.
The main image is from Stampscapes and is watercolored and paper pieced over the same image, is mounted on a nestie and has SnoTex and dazzling diamonds (that is my bling!) The sky was sponged in going gray over a torn paper towel, and the pine sprigs (MS Branch Punch) have more dazzling diamonds.
The sentiment is from Close to my Heart reads “Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace and good will toward men.” Luke 2:14
Merry Christmas.....

This doesn't even look like a card - it looks like an ornament to display in your home. Excellent work of art with super details!
I found this from the Favorites of 2010 thread!
