Finally! I used Michelle Laycock's wonderful tutorial on Easy Pergamano. Here's the link: http://www.easypergamano.blogspot.com/ I didn't venture beyond the basics of dry embossing and coloring with markers on the back of the images stamped with White Craft ink on cardstock vellum, but I love any excuse to play with vellum. And it produces such a softly beautiful effect, especially with pastel colors like Blush Blossom and Sage Shadow. Unfortunately, the camera had a hard time focusing on this.
After stamping the rose on cardstock vellum with Craft White, I dried the ink using my hair dryer (my Milwaukee heat gun gets too hot for vellum), masked the rose and then stamped the leaves. On the back side I rubbed all over with wax paper and traced all the lines with my embossing stylus (large end), taking care not to press too hard so I didn't tear through the vellum. Then I colored on the back side with my SU! markers (Blush and Sage), using the blender pen to remove some color for shading. I xyroned the rose image onto white cardstock and cut it out, then mounted it on dimensionals.
The flower brads were originally a light orange, so I muted them down to blush by dabbing on white craft ink and then embossing with clear EP. The pearl brads were originally matte white, which I heat embossed with silver pearl EP. The Sage Shadow panel with Dots and Daisies is also Pergamano but xyron'd onto sage shadow that was stamped with Aida and White Craft ink. It's on dimensionals on the right side only to bring it level, and the flower is also on dimensionals. The base Aida panel is done with Versamark and Vanilla EP for texture.
I enjoyed using a more contemporary set with an old fashioned effect. My hubby kept saying how much his mother would have loved this card, especially the colors.
