Today's challenge is already posted and I have a card....it's a GREAT day in more ways than one.
Love this old stamp set using one of my favorite color combinations (anything with black). Used to hate ribbon until I started using the bow easy but this one was without the bow easy so was my least favorite embellishment. Newest tool is the piercing pad. I am posting this early so more people can see and read my information. I want to thank all of you for your kind comments and prayers for my son, Todd. This was about the worst week I have ever had. Teri, Todd's wife, called me early Tuesday morning while I was on the phone with my sister. I didn't take the call because I did not know who it was and was talking to my sis long distance. When I got beeped again in a few seconds, I knew something was up so I tried to take the call but did not go through. On my way upstairs to get my mobile phone to see who was trying to get in touch with me, the phone rang again. It was Teri telling me my son was in the hospital with chest pains and that they had given him nitroglycerin to ease the pain. When I arrived at the hospital, the doctor came in with the results of the CAT scan since they were checking him for a blood clot in his lung. She told in us in a very kind way that this was one of those rare instances when they are looking for something but find something else. No blood clot but a fairly large mass that was surrounding his thoracic vein. She said she was sure it was not cancer but needed to be looked at right away. Next doctor (heart) said he was waiting on the stress test because this find was way more important than his heart...what a bedside manner he had!!! The internal medicine surgeon said very difficult area to get a biopsy and in the process his lung could collapse. When this doctor was leaving later in the day, I was outside having one of my many crying spells I did not want my son to see and he stopped and told me there was a 60/40 percent chance it was cancer but to hold onto the 40 percent since he never had smoked!!! Anyone who knows me at all, can only image what this did to me. I went back to say goodnight to my son and drove home crying all the way so I could get him on my church's prayer chain right away. We have very good prayer warriors. I also was consoled by my sister and Anne Ryan by phone and the relief of being able to get it out and cry with someone helped so much. I did not spend much time on SCS because I could not even think but did notice several comments from you wonderful crafters sending prayers and thoughts my way. I am truly grateful to all of you for this. The next morning, the worse news possible came from the doctor who was going after the biopsy. He said he was sure it was inside the vein and he would have to go through his artery in his neck to get enough to biopsy and it was a very delicate procedure which could result in bleeding inside. He scared my son so much minutes before taking him in for the procedure and I was not happy with the doctor at that moment. He also said that if it was cancer, it would be a major operation to remove it. This was devastating news. One hour later, Todd was returned to his room....smiling!!! He said the dye did not highlight any mass. They took another CAT scan and the other tests and it was gone. The doctors had no explanation other than the vein had a bulge at the bottom. I am claiming this as a miracle from God and that the bulge is where the mass was removed and it just hadn't straightened out yet. I am sorry this is so long but it was a lot easier to put it into one message for all to see. God is good. Prayers were answered.
Hugs to all of you!!!!!
