This is a card for today's Sketch Challenge, 155, for a very special friend who has a summer home on Cape Cod. It uses several old, retired stamp sets, but they are among my favorites. Can you guess what the sea turtles are stamped on? It's the lining from the inside of a security envelope! I thought it looked like sunlight reflecting on the bottom of the ocean, or maybe fishing nets. They are embossed with Green Pearl EP, with a sprinkle of Iridescent Ice EP, which gives them a lot of sparkle that doesn't show up well in the scan. The background panel is done in alcohol inks, and overstamped with Old World Map. The seagull on the piling is stamped on a piece of real weathered sea glass. Finally, on the base card, I used a Basic Brown inkpad and simply swiped it direct to paper to create a mottled, sandy looking background. Maybe someday I'll get some real decorative papers, but for the moment I don't have any, and so have to create my own!
Thanks for looking, and Happy Holidays Everyone!

All I can say is Maddy sure is sneaky! For I now hold this stunning card in my hands. The photo truly does not do this justice. The colors are so much more vivid in life and the textures are amazing. This will be framed and will be displayed in our home center stage. For her to have taken the time to create such a detailed card as this at this busy time of the year makes it all the more precious to me. Have to reiterate girlfriend how blessed I am to have found you and call you my best friend. Wishing you all the best always! Much love.
