Growing up in New England we usually had at least one "snow day" off from school due to the weather. My siblings and I would get up in the morning and anxiously await the news on the radio to see if school was closed. My dad was a school teacher so he would get the day off too! My mom, on the other hand, never liked these days!! When I saw the tiltle of this weeks challenge it brought back all the snow day memories!
In keeping with the challenge I kept the design and color scheme simple. Crumb Cake cardstock was used with Palette Burnt Umber ink on the base card. The sentiment was created using JustRite stamps in the Times New Roman font. I had completely forgotten that I had these and they worked perfectly for me here.
The tiny swirl of snowflakes is from one of those $1 clear sets you can get at Michaels - and it's good to know I can put these to use once in a while!
The main image is from Stamp Zia - it is stamped in versamark and embossed with white EP. I love the look of white embossing and thought it would work well here.
I wanted to keep the embellishments at a minimum - the twine and brown button were just enough to finish it off.
Thanks for checking me out!!
