Thanks so much, Julia for this Ways to challenge and the link to the kuler site, to say I loved it would be an understatement! I chose au courant light for my colorway and I was able to finish my HOLY name challenge #1. Please check it out.
I wanted the word HOLY to be prominent in my design, so I chose Purple Onion Design's font Zothique Alphabet. I stamped on GP white cutting the letters and glazing them with the Sakura puff pen in black. My base is from Basic Grey's Wassill the birck red solid. I stamped Cornish Heritage Farms aged sheet music scrapblock onto this base with TH di fired brick ink. On top of this I used a Stampers Anonymous book edge stamp that was inked with VersaMark and embossed in clear. It has Latin script which you should be able to see on the left edge of my page.
I wanted to be able to journal directly to my page. I scanned Making Memories Paperie rouge into my computer, altering it in Elements to add the scripture I chose for HOLY. I then printed the note page and cut the spiral edge by hand and glued it down to my 6x6 page. The houndstooth strip is also stamped with CHF scrapblock with Adirondack ginger. I distressed it with various ChalkBox inks. I have written about the song, Holy, holy, holy there. You can lift up the panels revealing my journaling. The big brass key (K&CO) holds it in place. The Shalom is an Amuse stamp and I added the date of this challenge on the edge of the key with a Sharpie. The journey metal coin is from Tim Holtz idealogy line. The glittered red heart (MM) and a bit of hand-dyed silk. I finished it with a Live ticket, again from TH. It was distressed with the ChalkBox inks and staples to the journal page.
So I can slide the coin to the left and lift my pages. There is room for my thoughts on the word and what was happening in my life these two weeks. Thanks so much for looking and always, always, I am blessed by your comments!
