Hi! This card was made for today's Limited Supply Challenge: Going Green. We were to reuse/repurpose/recycle something on our card.
Well, if you know me, I am one of the CHEAPEST women alive. But, Speedy the Cat's fraternal grandmother, (Hey, he thinks he's Markie's little brother!!!), was the most frugal woman on the planet. That woman cut buttons off the shirts that had been worn thread bare by her 5 children! Then, she made the shirt a rag. Then, when it wasn't worth it's salt as a rag, she threw it in a blender and made paper pulp out of it!!! She MADE her writing paper, with a screen she found in someone's garbage! Now, she wasn't crafty, just CHEAP! And, she was PROUD of it! LOL! (Oh, and they were "well to do!")
So, being the wife of one of those 5 children, I have learned to cut buttons off shirts...I have a basket of buttons that just sits on the headboard of my bed, a tribute to my husband's mother....
So, today, I got out two metal buttons and fashioned them into "faux" Build A Brads! I found the bubble stickers a few months ago in a GAME at the Goodwill and thought...Hmm....I can use those! LOL!
AND...ALL the paper, including the base, were in my REJECT pile!!! I even used this rose that I colored and thought, "OMGoodness....Now that's a weird color!" a week or so ago...
The rose was stamped in Noir Black Palette Hybrid ink and colored with SU! Basic Black, Sahara Sand and Mellow Moss markers. I used an aqua painter to blend the colors.
