This card is for this weeks colour challenge to use Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist & Pacific Point, dessert anything with wings. I had to substitute the Lemon Lime Twist for Distress ink Twisted Citron but other than that it is true to challenge and the wings are the two little butterflies. Very pretty colours to work with this week. You can find the challenge here: CC731 Flamingos Twisting by the Pacific (3/19/19) by Penny627 at Splitcoaststampers
The second challenge is the Teapot Challenge to use something you haven't used in a long time and the destination is to one of our New Zealand sisters who makes the most amazing sock monkeys hence the monkey theme. You can find the challenge here: MMTPT556 - March 19, 2019 Old School by casep at Splitcoaststampers
I bought a monkey image off Mo Manning one of my go to places if I don't have anything in my stash.
The things I haven't used for a long time if at all are:
1. SU Water Color - Watercolor Crayon (hadn't used them at all and must of had them since 200 I used them to colour the monkey.
2. TCW Stencil - I have a lot of lovely stencils and do use them but not as often as I should and this one hardly ever.
3. Carl punch, I used this for the mini butterflies and haven't used any of my Carl punches in an age.
I printed the image onto some blending card then printed the image again onto some copy paper and used this as a mask then I placed the stencil over the masked image and sponged the Twisted Citron.
I removed the mask from the monkey and coloured the image using the watercolor crayons and an aqua brush, I found I had more control over the colour doing it this way.
I stamped the greeting with Flirty Flamingo then over stamped and clear heat embossed.
I put the card together.
Last but not least made and attached the little butterflies and finally I put little bodies onto the butterflies with Liquid Pearls.
Thanks for looking cheers Marg
