This is for Mary's color challenge for the week that includes Gold, Green, and Black with a dessert option of "anything goes". I used these colors and for dessert, I used colors outside the challenge.
This card features products from Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit for February 2019, which was "inspired by the sophisticated glamour and swinging jazz of the era", per Hero Arts. When I received the kit, I thought, "Oh, gosh, what am I going to do with this?". I put the package away as Art deco is not my style.
But when I saw Mary's colors, I wondered if I could use the kit, as a Jade Green color was a color for that era. I gave a lot of thought to how to pull this off, and then I went about creating.
I used a piece of green cardstock and a stencil from the kit and covered most of the stencil, except the center, with Glass Bead Glitter Gel. After removing the stencil, I covered the glitter gel with Hero Arts Gold Glitter Embossing Powder and set the panel aside to dry. After drying, I heat set the powder.
For the centerpiece, I used the dancing couple, jukebox, and musical notes stamps from the kit to create a dance scene. I created a dance floor in black and white and colored the remaining scene. I colored the wall of the room in a bluish gray, which is a color for the era.
I did not include a sentiment for the outside and will wait until I determine the recipient. I did use a sentiment from the kit on the card's inside that says, "Have a Roaring Good Time."
In the end, I decided I like the art deco card. Thank you so much for stopping by and I greatly appreciate any comments.
It is well past my bedtime, thus, I'll be back after snoozing to comment on others' cards.
