I had hoped to post this card this past weekend, but I wasn't feeling well. We celebrated Memorial Day, and I always remember a beloved person who lost his life in Vietnam. It's a bittersweet holiday for me, and I am overwhelmed by the many brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Praying for their families and friends.
That's what started my heart to create on Saturday, and then I saw the Inspiration Challenge. What a wonderful website Brenda found. I love it and found this selection that inspired my card. It was the red pillow on the white bed - and it highlighted the red, just as the poppy is highlighted in my card. This card is for someone dear who has lost someone she loves, and I trust that it will encourage her.
I loved coloring it, and I kept it simple with a pierced die and a red mat. I added this wonderful Scripture verse that is so dear to me. I finished it off with several sequins for some interest, and that was it. It also fits yesterday's CAS challenge of "Remembering." My beloved friend was born just two days before me, and we actually started kindergarten together as our moms walked us to school. He was an amazing young man.
Thanks for taking a closer look at my card, and may you find someone today who needs a word of encouragement and love. Hugs, sweet friends! xoxo

That is a CAS beauty! Wonderful sentiment and that poppy is colored beautifully! I think these are my favorite flowers on cards because the red is such a strong contrast to the white paper they always look great!
