Since there are many August birthdays on my calendar, I chose it with its gladioulus. It's a flower that is not depicted here on SCS very often, so I thought that could be a fun aspect too. Using a photo as a guide, I roughly sketched the gladioli(plural of gladiolus) before watercoloring them. To qualify for the MIX challenge and its requirement of a least two forms of medium, I did the green bits and bg with Copics.
This card is also for PTI's 9th anniversary challenge today using a "Color Pop Fortune Teller"....an origami-like folded "chart" that is given on Nichole's blog.

This is just so beautiful! Love your water coloring. It makes me think of my grandmothers too. I don't know if this particular flower was a favorite or not, but they all loved flowers. I recently learned that one planted them and entered them in contests and people wanted to buy them. Another loved them so much when her roses weren't in bloom she'd tie fake ones on the bush! My other grandma loved flowers of all sorts, but due to asthma and allergies she never did much with them. Your card really is so pretty! Thanks for delighting my eyes with your lovely creation!
