I have wanted to honor Francie for so long and finally did! This is a direct case of Francie's infamous aspen trees and I pretty much followed her description. I wanted to do this in winter colors but after seeing her vibrant colors, it fell flat. So I went for fun and colorful changing my colors just a bit, changed the matting and added the Joy inlay. I colored the trees like Francie did using warm grays. I bow to you Francie, for doing this! It took forever to get some shading on those trees (grin). I did have fun doing it though and look forward to doing more of these. Thank you for stopping by.
I neglected to include the link to Francie's card. Here it is Plain Old Trees. Nothing about her cards is plain or old!

Wow, this is a wonderful card you made to honor Francie! She does have a way with those birch trees. Your time-consuming efforts certainly show as the bark on your trees look real down to the crackle. The spectacular bkgd of color is unique and looks fabulous, too. Terrific card, Nancy! xx
