With the beautiful palette of autumn all around us, how could we not be inspired to bring these colors into our card making?
Last year, I made my own autumn leaf embellishments for this "Quilted Lovely Leaves" card using re-inkers and vellum. This year, after having been introduced to the wonders of UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel), I changed things up a bit.
Amazing how using watercolor paper, UTEE, and a bit of beading wire completely changed the look of the leaves! I was so happy with the way this one came out that I decided to go with clean & simple in order to avoid detracting from it. Hard to believe it was once a mere piece of paper.
-stamped the leaf
-cut out the leaf
-submerged leaf in water and crinkled into a ball
-un-crinkled leaf & applied re-inkers to super wet backside as I didn't want the stamped border to show
-dried with heat gun and drew faint veins with pencil
-pressed leaf onto Versamark pad
-applied clear UTEE and heated in a coffee filter
-quickly applied second coat of UTEE and reheated
-went around the outside with a goldleaf pen
-wrapped beading wire and formed stem
As always, I'm bemoaning the fact that I'm not a better photographer. I will one day invest in buying or making a photo tent.

I am one of those lurkers who rarely ever post anything.
Ever since my first "melting" experience I have been on the look out for a 6"-8" electric frying pan. I tried to explain to my stepmother what I wanted it for (btw...she had one for me).
This card far surpasses what I had in my head...awesome, awesome.
