I have a confession to make. I have stalked the gallery for this challenge intermittently for about a year, marveling at the quality of the cards. But being kind of simple, I have been more of a CAS kind of cardmaker. I have resolved, however to get out of my comfort zone and try some of the more shall we say challenging (for me) challenges. I am a Teapot Virgin.
Well this morning, after having braved the supermarket throngs in anticipation of a few inches of snow I read The Story: MMTPT128 ~ I BEG YOUR PARDON! IS TOO GOLD IN THE GARDEN! by Mothermark at Splitcoaststampers
and got to work.
Jed couldn't be convinced to wander off in pursuit of posies, gold or otherwise and decided to head inland in the hopes of finding a (virgin) stream. After wandering for some time he came out of a thicket into a clearing in which was a small pond. He peered into the water and couldn't believe his eyes..."Gold!' he shouted. "I've found the Motherload!" Alas, before his eyes, the gold shifted a bit and on closer inspection his heart sank. Holy carp, it wasn't gold in the water, only goldfish. A koi pond. Demoralized and being reminded by the fish's bubbles that Fran's hands would soon be wrapped around Jed's head, he panned the horizon in search of another stream.
About the card - Stamped the koi in Versamark & black, the water lilies in Versmark & Melon Mambo, masked the lily and stamped the pad in Versamark & Wild Wasabi. Clear embossed, painted with twinkling H2O's (Apple Blossom, Mango Mamba, Orange Peel and Green TEA). Sponged the background with Marina Mist, cut Out with Nestie and traced the stencil with a gold leaf pen. Applied the pearl bubbles. Stamped the sentiment (the closest to a fish theme that I had...) in Wasabi and cut out. Ran Marina Mist CS through the bigshot with a CB folder, applied the panels and cutouts and added some pearls.
Thanks for looking and have a peaceful day. Thanks Celisa for the little push

Well I've lurked at many a tea party by simply watching through the trees. Tumbled right in last week when they gathered at the 100 Acre Woods, got lost trying to find my way out and wound up in a rose garden this week. This gang of tea potters are an incredibly welcoming group so I look forward to crossing paths with you again since we're both pretty much 'wet behind the ears' - sort of like your fish. Let's go eat our cookies before they get any soggier. Love your card - great way to start by coming in the front door...

It can't be, no, it can't be your first? Teahee! Your story is hilarious and your card is magnificent! I can tell you are going to fit right in. Can you feel someone tugging at your upper lip? Well that's me tuggin' at the hook to reel ya in, we girls want you to come back and join us in a tea. The bigger the tea party the better.
You did wonderful job creating your card, with your embossed bg (of which I would have never used that as water but looks absolutely great) and your beautiful lily pads.

You did a wonderful job creating your card, with your embossed bg (of which I would have never thought of using that folder for water but it looks absolutely great) and your beautifully colored lily pads. Outstanding job girl, I can't wait to see your next one! Welcome and TFS
