This is for two challenges. The Inspiration Challenge today is to create a project that represents a memory of our home state. The Queen for the Day Challenge honors Linda aka Snail. Congratulations Linda. Here is Linda's card that inspired me and brought back memories of the fields of weeds and wildflowers around our West Virginia farm home. SC271 Many Thanks by snail at Splitcoaststampers I loved Linda's images of leather leaf fern and Queen Anne's Lace along with the other stems in her project. I was inspired to create a scene of wildflowers that grew in the fields around our house. I especially loved a wildflower/weedy plant that had puffy white flower heads that were more like cottonballs than petals. Does anyone know the name of what I am referring to?? Using a reverse mask I clear embossed the image with craft ink, sponged with the yellow and then used Liquid Applique' to create the puffy flower heads.
Stamps: Rubbernecker Newly Released Weeds
Paper: Watercolor, Yellow, Green
Ink: White and Olive Craft Ink, Lemonade
Accessoires: Nesties for reverse mask, Grosgrain, Liquid Applique', Sponges

Could it be some kind of thistle or milkweed? Whatever it is, it sure doesn't look like a weed. This is so pretty--your sponging is beautiful and the colors look great.
